8 May 2017: Alice to Zouroku sure has a lot of hairy arms

Sana and Zouroku
Nice hat.

Alice to Zouroku (Alice and Zouroku) is about a little girl with essentially magic abilities who escapes from a secret facility where people with flexible morals study kids with superpowers. She then takes up with a crotchety old man and various cute things happen. Well, between periodic bouts of trauma, that is. It's a neat concept, albeit one that's been done before in various ways, but making the male lead an elderly man instead of a teenage spud is a nice change.

Miriam
Miriam is displeased again. Miriam is displeased a lot.

Alice to Zouroku also has DARK MAMIKO, whose ability involves summoning hairy American arms of various size and quantities. Then there's the jarring 3DCG aspects and some blatant product placement. If I'm not exactly selling you on this show, I guess you'll have to take my word for it that it's better than it sounds, honestly.

Sanae
Sanae's main contribution to the show so far is reaction faces.

Still, it's not even in my top five among anime currently airing this season. I can't help but feel as if it's got untapped potential. Episode five finished off an arc which I had been expecting to last much longer, and yesterday's block aired a special with the staff which was more narrated recap than it was preview, so I have no idea where the story is going to go.
